What is WordPress?

WordPress is a  Content Management System that provides the end user  the power to control their own online blogs and websites

Why Use WordPress?

Here are our reasons why we like to build on wordpress:

  • WordPress is “Open Source” (AKA Free!)
  • WordPress is Easy! (Well – sort of. Plugins and theme modification is trickier, and thats exactly where we come in.)
  • WordPress is versatile. (There’s a plugin or “hack” for just about anything you want it to do!)
    Whether it’s online retail, informational or promotional – WordPress can handle it 99% of the time!
  • Superb support! Obviously, you get great support from us, but the WordPress community worldwide is chock full of enthusiasts and experts just waiting to solve the newest problem with a theme or a plug in
  • Your site comes ready to go! The joy of the WordPress “dahsboard” is that once we’ve styled your site – posting a blog post, or adding new pages requires 1-2 clicks.
    No messing around with stylesheets or templates per page – once we’re done  -your site’s good to go!

Worpress Themes:

Whether it’s completely built from scratch or pre-purchased, a “theme” is the folder full of images, CSS, php and xthml files that IS your website essentially! We at Kilted Chaos have some favorite’s we like to work with, but are happy to roll up our collective sleeves and work with virtually any WordPress look and feel (aka theme) that you like.

Plugins?

Plugins are  the little pieces of code that work hard behind the scenes to make youre site run even better and do even cooler things!

  • Twitter Integration? – There’s a plugin for that!
  • Ecommerce? – There’s a plugin or three that will handle that!
  • Real Estate Listings – yup, WordPress has you covered!
  • Video players? – More than we can count!
  • Image galleries? – Wow, there’s so many different ways of displaying images using WordPress plugins!

Some plugins can be very quickly installed, some take a little styling and configuration to make them work well with yor site, but we won’t go into the fine details – after all, that’s why you use Kilted Chaos!
