Streaming Video, Streaming Audio, Image Galleries, Social Media- Everything the Independent Movie Maker Needs
Produced for Finnish animator SAmi Nikki, the Last Chance website was used as a tool to generate interest in this unique movie. Production took place throughout 2009 and SAmi was able to quickly and easily post images that inspired him during the creative process. The movie trailer is streaming live on the site right now – you can watch it by clicking the image below.
The site was designed to do three core things:
1/ Make it easy for visitors to see the movie
2/ Make it easy for the producers to post content on the development of the Movie
3/ Make it easy for visitors to see the creative process and "watch" the artist at work.
The site will be developed further when the movie is finished – perhaps with the addition of a front page that displays the movie itself, but for the development process SAmi was looking for a simple blog set up.
The movie trailer is located on youtube with a high definition version hosted on vimeo and simply embedded into the wordpress post – music is streamed straight from mp3s using a free plugin – the WordPress Audio Player – it is super simple to use and finally comes with a volume control.
The site is built using Thesis, a premium wordpress theme that has great SEO and image handling capabilities. Each inspiration post has a full custom title tag, meta description and meta keywords along with tags generated by Tagaroo and images pulled from the creative commons on Flickr – all of which adds to the overall visibility.
