Sell your project directly off your site: music, movies, screen printed posters, T-shirts, small Arabian puppets – if you can think of it, you can do it. Companies like TopSpin, MySongStore, Reverb Nation, etc, give you the tools without having to deal with nasty stuff like payment gateways and bandwidth.
You can outsource pretty much everything; it all depends upon what kind of resource you have to start with. We’re big fans of getting experts to do their job, paying them fairly for it and freeing up time to do what you do best, plus these tools come with some great reporting that makes your life so much simpler. Oh, and just because you’re now selling from your own site doesn’t mean you shouldn’t be on iTunes, Amazon etc – in fact – the more you sell from your own site – the more you’ll sell from the big stores – crazy but true!
